Agnes Cecilia Margaret Dudley, known as Babs by family and friends, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 91 years old. Babs was born in 1925 in Paris, France. She was the eldest of six children born to the late Guy and Cecilia Hucks.

Although both her parents were English, her family lived in Paris and Babs attended French schools. She and her family returned to England quite early in World War II where she continued her education at the Lycée Français de Londres. She joined the Free French under Charles de Gaulle shortly after she turned 18 and returned to Paris right after its liberation in 1944.

After the war, she continued to live and work in Paris where she met her American husband, John H.B. Dudley, while they were both working at Mobil Oil Co. The couple married in Paris in May 1949.

Over the years, Babs, John, and their four children lived for extended periods of time in a number of countries including India, the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia. Between two of their assignments overseas, they bought a house in Darien and resided there for 50 years. Babs was a real estate broker at Tibbets Real Estate for many years and was a former President of the Darien Board of Realtors. She was also very active in the International Group and French Group and hosted numerous events for each organization.

Babs was predeceased by her husband, John. She is survived by their four children, Patricia Dudley and her husband, Tom Megson of Darien, CT; Christopher Dudley and his wife, Kathryn of New Canaan, CT; Charles Dudley and his wife, Judy of Reedley, CA; and Fay Bragg of Deerfield Beach, FL. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Ian, Nicholas, Alexandra, Zachary, Christopher, and Dominic, and two great-grandchildren, Sean and Amelia. Also surviving are three of her sisters, Eileen Westcott, Rosemary Breen, and Claire Robinson, and her brother, Eric Hucks, of England and Ireland. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Joan Hucks.

Visiting hours are at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on February 24, 2017. Burial will be private.
